Pearl Export vs. Tama Superstar I am going to buy a drumset (Hopefully today!) and have narrowed it down to the Pearl Export and Tama Superstar. The Export shells are poplar, and the superstar shells are birch with inner ply of basswood to absorb the ring. Superstar also has die cast hoops.

Hey r/drummit, I'm looking for advice here.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to start the 'which brand is better' flame war.
I'm trying to find my first kit to study on my university degree; this means I'm looking for really good sound (for the price of course), durable (even tho I have studied before so I'm not the guy who breaks sticks and drumheads) and something I can gig with. (Of course in planning to upgrade on the run for something better)
So my options at the moment are:
A used pearl (can't remember the reference name) Mapex voyager Tama imperial star.
So, in your opinion, what would be the best choice in this case?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I forgot to tell I'll be playing different kids of music, specially jazz and Latin jazz with something groovy in between.
